Trick with a hose to unclog the toilet

1. Prepare the hose and bottle funnel

Begin by selecting a hose approximately 1 meter in length, preferably one that is flexible but sturdy. This length allows you to reach deep into the toilet drain where clogs often form. Next, take an empty plastic bottle and carefully cut off the top portion to create a funnel. This funnel will serve as a secure adapter between the hose and the toilet, ensuring a tight connection that prevents water leaks and directs pressure precisely at the blockage.

To enhance the effectiveness, cut the end of the hose at an angle. This angled cut makes insertion easier and helps concentrate the water flow directly into the clog. Having these tools ready before you start will streamline the unclogging process and minimize mess.

2. Insert and seal the hose

Insert the cut end of the hose into the toilet drain as far as possible, aiming to get close to the clog itself. The deeper the hose reaches, the more focused the force and cleaning action will be on the blockage. Once inserted, attach the other end of the hose to the funnel made from the plastic bottle.

It’s crucial to seal the connection tightly between the hose and the bottle funnel. Use waterproof tape or a suitable plastic sealant to prevent water from leaking during the process. A well-sealed setup ensures that when water pressure is applied, it is directed through the hose efficiently, maximizing the chance of loosening the clog.
